Diamond DA42 NG receives Transport Canada certification
Tuesday April 17th 2012 - Diamond Aircraft

Transport Canada has certified both regular and special mission versions of Diamond Aircraft's DA42 NG, powered by the company's proprietary Austro Engine AE300 jet-fuel piston diesel powerplant.
“The Austro Engine powered DA42 is a great performer and we have already produced new aircraft and completed many conversions to Austro power of the first generation Thielert powered DA42s for export from our London facility,†said Peter Maurer, CEO of London, Ont.-based Diamond Aircraft. “With scheduled upcoming deliveries to Canadian customers, we are pleased to finally receive Transport Canada’s approval as well. We also look forward to the completion of Transport Canada validation of the approval for flight into known icing conditions (FIKI) for the DA42 NG in the very near future.â€Â
The Transport Canada validation of the EASA type certificate includes certification of all available optional equipment, including the ice protection system, with Transport Canada’s validation of the EASA certification for intentional operations in known icing conditions pending.
