Airbus Plans to Open First Factory in America

Airbus is reportedly set to announce plans to open a plant in Alabama, allowing the manufacturer to reduce costs and setting it in direct competition with Boeing in its home market.

According to Spiegel, the plant would be producing A320 jets for the American market. It would be the first plant of its kind for Airbus in the U.S..

Airbus already employs around 230 people in Mobile, Ala., who work on the design and manufacturing of interior items for its planes.
