Canada’s newest private jet charter company, Charter Air Transportation Services Inc., (CATS) took off earlier this month from its headquarters at Toronto’s Lester B. Pearson International Airport. The company is targeting Canadian business travellers, offering privately owned premium charter aircraft as part of a turn-key service.

With a fleet of state-of-the-art Hawker Beechcraft Premier 1A aircraft, CATS is able to fly up to six passengers over 1,000 nautical miles non-stop. The largest aircraft among comparable light jets, CATS’ Beechcraft Premier 1A fleet is capable of flying at altitudes of 41,000 feet and reaching speeds of 451kts or 526mph (835km/h), and has a spacious cabin layout with in-flight entertainment options, snack and beverage service, and a fully enclosed lavatory.

CATS said the Premier 1A allows it to offer business travellers a low cost alternative to commercial airline pricing.

“Business travelers who fly commercial airlines have come to recognize the inherent inefficiencies and negative impact on productivity associated with commercial air travel,” said CATS’ chief operating officer, Kevin Heitman. “In today’s fast paced business environment, flying commercially with its challenges – including long security lines, overbooked, delayed or cancelled flights, cramped seats and lost luggage – can be frustrating and time consuming,” said CATS’ chief operating officer, Kevin Heitman. “CATS offers business travelers a business-focused alternative. Our service has been designed to offer flexible flight times, customized flight plans, and a relaxing and productive in-flight experience, allowing our passengers to worry less about how they are getting to their meeting, and more about what they’re going to do once they arrive.”
