On March 18, the Canadian Forces CF-18 Demo Team announced that this year’s CF-188 Hornet flown by the team would not be featuring a distinctive paint scheme.

In the announcement, the team pointed to the COVID-19 outbreak forcing the RCAF to scale back operations to only support critical operations as the reason why the team’s Hornet will not feature a paint scheme this year.

However, the team said it will still be featuring “a theme honouring the legacy of air power and the 75 years since the end of the Second World War, as well as the 50th season of the CF Snowbirds,” in things like patches and brochures that will accompany the team to shows and such.

The team said details of that theme will be coming in the near future.

  1. With the death of a snow birds pilot & loss of another old plane crash the CF-18 demo pointless jets should be painted with the snowbirds colors livery & use these CF-18 as new snowbirds aircraft since this is just a demo fleet why not just give them to snowbirds to use from now on
