Curtiss-Wright’s Defense Solutions division and Mannarino Systems & Software–a Quebec-based leading provider of safety-critical systems, software and electronic hardware engineering services–announced on Oct. 11, 2017, a new strategic partnership that greatly expands the capabilities and services available to system designers developing COTS-based DO-254 airborne electronic hardware (AEH) and DO-178B/C software-based safety-certifiable avionics solutions.
Under the agreement, exclusive for the embedded COTS aerospace and defense market, Mannarino will provide Curtiss-Wright and its customers with safety-certifiable software; systems integration support (including the development of life cycle data artifact kits); and expert guidance through safety certification processes. The agreement further strengthens Curtiss-Wright’s leadership position as a supplier of open architecture-based secure and safety-critical subsystems for aerospace and defense platforms.
“We are very excited to combine our industry-leading DO-254 safety-certifiable hardware with Mannarino’s long established expertise in the development of DO-178B/C software, integration of critical avionics systems and successful navigation of these complex systems through the safety certification process,” said Lynn Bamford, senior vice-president and general manager of the Defense Solutions division. “This agreement will deliver a whole new level of safety-certifiable systems capability to our customers.”
“It is a privilege to be partnering with Curtiss-Wright and to assist them in becoming a dominant player in the growing market for COTS-based, certifiable avionics solutions. We at Mannarino pride ourselves on our reputation for close collaboration with our customers, and [our] delivery of certifiable systems, software and hardware solutions to the highest quality standards. The trust and recognition that we have now established with Curtiss-Wright through our partnership allows Mannarino to extend our capabilities to additional customers and market segments,” said John Mannarino, president and founder of Mannarino.
