ARGUS TRAQPak data indicates that December 2016 posted an increase of 1.4 per cent in business aircraft activity over December 2015.

The results by operational category were mixed with Part 135 activity rising a substantial 9.5 per cent. Fractional activity finished the period flat and Part 91 activity dropped by 3.6 per cent. The aircraft categories were mostly positive with large cabin jets leading once again, with a 7.2 per cent increase over last December.

December business aviation flight activity posted a month over month decrease (which is the normal historic trend) from November, finishing down 5.7 per cent. Results by operational category were all red for the month, with Fractional down 3.9 per cent, Part 135 down 0.9 per cent and Part 91 activity down 9.5 per cent.

Aircraft categories were all down with the largest month over month decrease coming in the mid-size jet sector, down 6.4 per cent from November. Two individual sectors did manage to show increases; the Part 135 turbo prop and the fractional large jet sectors up 2.4 per cent and 1.9 per cent respectively.

ARGUS TRAQPak data is aircraft flight number specific arrival and departure information on all instrument flight rules flights in the United States (including Alaska and Hawaii), the Caribbean and Canada.

For purposes of this report, FAR Part 135 flight data represents all flight activity of aircraft on a Part 135 charter certificate regardless of individual flight mission (excluding cargo, scheduled Part 135, and fractional operators).
