Diamond relaunches DA20-C1 with new instrument panel

The high demand for single engine training aircraft has led to the return to production of the Diamond DA20-C1, powered by a 125-horsepower Continental IO-240 engine and equipped with new state-of-the-art Garmin G500TXi avionics.

With over 1,000 DA20s already operating worldwide, the strong desire for lower cost new single engine aircraft in training environments continues. The DA20 is proven to be a safe and efficient aircraft for primary training, and fleet operators are raving about its return to production, the company said.

“We are excited to re-introduce the brand new DA20-C1,” said Scott McFadzean, CEO of Diamond Aircraft Industries Inc. “Our innovative DNA is of course incorporated into the new aircraft, which showcases the latest Garmin avionics.”

The DA20 was originally introduced in 1992 and exists in two variants. It is certified as a utility category aircraft and is popularly used for primary training with the ability to do spin training. With nearly seven million flight hours across the DA20 fleet in the world, it is a high utilization aircraft, with unlimited lifetime on the airframe and unparalleled value retention.

The first brand-new 2020 DA20-C1 aircraft were delivered in August 2020; Diamond is currently taking new orders for delivery in 2021.
