FNTI is an Indigenous institute offering unique educational opportunities aimed at enhancing the capacity and strength of learners and communities.

In partnership with several Ontario colleges and universities, FNTI delivers culturally-rich post-secondary programs.

Most courses are presented in an intensive mode that allows learners to learn while they continue to work and are delivered in communities across the country. FNTI is an Indigenous-owned and governed post-secondary institute with 35 years of rich history delivering programming rooted in culture and Indigenous ways of knowing.

The Aviation program is the only post-secondary Indigenous aviation program of its kind in Canada and provides hands-on flight training for students interested in pursuing a pilot’s licence or working in the aviation industry. Graduates will hold a commercial licence with their rating of choice and will also meet the eligibility criteria to obtain a Flight Dispatcher designation and a Two-Crew and Cruise Relief Pilot (IATRA) certification.

The curriculum meets the Ontario Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities requirements for post-secondary studies, as well as Transport Canada regulations and standards for flight training.
