Air Georgian’s SOAR program for aviation career awareness, recruitment and retention continues to grow with the addition of Harv’s Air to its flight school program.

The partnership provides a career pathway for instructors at Harv’s Air to become First Officers with Air Georgian with an entry into the Air Canada network.

“Harv’s Air is excited to enter into this partnership with Air Georgian’s SOAR Program,” said Adam Penner, operations manager with Harv’s Air.

“This is an amazing opportunity for our instructors and students to further their career in aviation while allowing Harv’s Air to better maintain predictable and sustainable staffing requirements.”

“This partnership with Harv’s Air is a great recruitment opportunity for both companies and will provide a seamless career path from flight instruction to a CRJ Captain,” said Jeff Tillapaugh, system chief pilot with Air Georgian.

SOAR (Sharing Opportunities for Advancement and Reward) is comprised of three initiatives:

  • Raising awareness of careers in aviation for high school students;
  • Working with flight schools and 703/704 operators to recruit pilots into Air Georgian; and
  • Providing career fulfillment and advancement opportunities for all employees.

SOAR provides partners with managed attrition and gives their employees and students visibility regarding career progression with an entry point to the Air Canada system.
