Helicopter Foundation International (HFI) is encouraging eligible students to apply for its annual scholarships.
HFI, a nonprofit organization, offers 19 scholarships each year to help support students studying to become part of tomorrow’s helicopter industry.
Students applying for the Commercial Helicopter Pilot Rating Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Have a private helicopter licence;
- Be enrolled in a commercial helicopter pilot rating program at a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA)-approved Part 141 school or international equivalent; and
- Expect to receive their commercial helicopter pilot rating after Jan. 1, 2018 (if students will receive their rating before this date, they are not eligible to apply).
Anyone applying for the Maintenance Technician Certificate Scholarship must meet the following criteria:
- Be enrolled in a maintenance technician certificate program at an FAA-approved Part 147 school or international equivalent; and
- Expect to receive their maintenance technician certificate after Jan.1, 2018.
Anyone applying for the Michelle North Scholarship for Safety must:
- Have their commercial pilot rating; and
- Demonstrate an outstanding aptitude for safe flying and aviation best practices.
