Industry jury panel confirmed for OAC’s 2020 student poster session

The Ontario Aerospace Council will be hosting its annual research and technology event, Beyond the Barriers, on March 30-31, 2020 at the Marriott Toronto Airport Hotel.

The event, which brings representatives of Ontario’s aerospace industry, government bodies, and academia together, will be holding an interactive student poster session which will be held on the March 30 in the afternoon, giving delegates the opportunity for one-on-one discussions with students presenting. The students will also be invited to the industry networking dinner which will take place immediately following the poster session.

Students attending an Ontario institution and doing research in the aerospace domain are invited to submit a 300 word abstract on a topic of their choice by Jan. 15, along with the name of their academic institution and department, and their contact details – full names, telephone number and email address. Submissions are to be sent by email to Natasha.gagnon@theOAC.ca. Selected students will be notified by Jan. 31, 2020 and provided instructions on how to prepare for the poster session.

All submissions will be reviewed by the 2020 Industry Jury Panel the consists of Brandon Bouwhuis, products manager, Burloak Technologies; Marie-Josée Potvin, manager of engineering development program/senior systems engineer, Space Science and Technology, Canadian Space Agency; Alex Tsoulis, director of business development, MHI Canada Aerospace; Michael Benner, director of R-and-D, aerodynamics laboratory, National Research Council of Canada; Dean Carpenter, associate director of Product Technology, Pratt & Whitney Canada; Joseph Lan, research and technology manager, Safran Landing Systems.
