Latitude Technologies on Oct. 23 announced, with engineering partner Heron Aero Solutions LLC and distribution partner DAC International, a Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) supplemental type certificate (STC) project for the installation of its DL150-00 Satellite Data Unit and S200-012 Safety Services SATVOICE line replaceable units on Boeing 757-200 VVIP aircraft.

The STC is central to achieving a FANS 1/A Data Link capability on the Boeing 757 in advance of the North Atlantic (NAT) mandates. The STC includes Latitude’s S200-012 Safety SATVOICE as an approved ATC long range communications system (LRCS). With the approval of this STC, Latitude’s DL150-00 / S200-012 package will become available to the part 25 transport category aircraft market.

The DL150-00 and S200-012 units are both approved under TSO-C159b next generation satellite system (NGSS), providing uninterrupted worldwide Data Link coverage and Safety Services voice communication for air traffic control communications.

This joint STC enables Latitude Technologies to provide its leading-edge Iridium-based Safety Services solutions to heavy transport aircraft to meet air traffic services (ATS) connectivity requirements from pole-to-pole.

“This is a solid market expansion for Latitude Technologies. The STC facilitates continued growth in the VVIP aircraft segment with cost-effective solutions,” commented Ray Larkin, business aviation sales at Latitude Technologies.
