Under this project, Latitude Technologies will supply its DL150-00 Satellite Data Unit (SDU), supporting the Citation X FANS 1/A upgrade program. Latitude Technologies has completed its vendor qualification with Textron Aviation.

In addition to the Citation X FANS 1/A project, Latitude Technologies is working with Textron Aviation to incorporate the S200-012 ATS Safety Services SATVOICE terminal as an approved long-range communication system (LRCS) option on the aircraft.

“We are very pleased to be working with Textron Aviation on this important project. The DL150 has proven itself a reliable and robust CPDLC Data SATCOM solution,” said Reuben Mann, marketing manager at SKYTRAC and Latitude Technologies. “This is an important step in bringing affordable FANS 1/A upgrade solutions to the Citation X operator community.”

Latitude Technologies’ flagship DL150 SDU has also been selected to complete Universal Avionics’ NextGen Pro•Link solution designed to support the controller-pilot data link communications (CPDLC) and automatic dependent surveillance-contract (ADS-C) mandates.

Latitude Technologies, a prominent manufacturer of avionics equipment for SATCOM, CPDLC, and FANS 1/A solutions, will see its DL150 SDU onboard Gulfstream G200, Falcon 50/50EX, Falcon 2000/2000EX, Hawker 800XP, and Challenger 850 (CR5200) aircraft as an integral part of the Pro•Link solution.

Mike Mitera, president of Chicago Jet Group (CJG), commented on the Pro•Link solution as being “the upgrade path that aircraft manufacturers and owner/operates have been requesting and have never been able to obtain until now. Upgrading legacy navigation products with Pro•Link NextGen capable components provides the one compelling argument for owner/operators to investigate what a considerable return on avionics upgrades will mean for their aviation investment.”

Chicago Jet Group, the premier provider of PBCS compliant data link solutions, avionics upgrades, and installation and certification, meets all requirements of NextGen Data Communications, FANS 1/A CPDLC.

Universal Avionics U.S. senior sales manager, Robert Clare, added that he is “pleased that CJG has created the path to allow the installation on these aircraft. We hope to see more certifications come on line in the near future as NextGen continues to evolve.”
