Thunder Bay, Ont.-based Levaero Aviation received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) approved maintenance organization (AMO) approval on Jan. 18, 2018, permitting the company to perform maintenance services on European Union-registered aircraft and components.
“Our FAA [Federal Aviation Administration] AMO approval has allowed Levaero to grow and maintain our U.S. client base over the years,” said Steve Davey, Levaero’s executive vice-president and chief operating officer.
“We continually see a growing interest in our maintenance services from outside Canada, and on a number of occasions an EASA AMO approval would have allowed us to assisted EU-based customers who required maintenance services. This was simply a logical next step for us.”
Established in 1977, Levaero’s Thunder Bay service centre operates 24/7/365 and employs 38 full-time service staff, with the AMO holding aircraft, avionics, instruments and structures categories.
