Loomex Group to offer disaster training in Peterborough

The Loomex Group has announced a unique training opportunity being offered at the Loomex head office at Peterborough Airport on Nov. 18, 19 and 20, 2018.

This unique training opportunity is for personnel working at airports, police departments, fire departments, emergency management services, municipalities, hospitals, social services, universities, school boards and private enterprises.

Participants will arrive on Sunday, Nov. 18, in time for an evening reception, dinner and a 90-minute interactive workshop, “The ComeBack Formula” featuring Sandra Millers Younger from California.

The ComeBack Formula is based on five powerful, common sense practices proven to build resilience and transform disaster into opportunity.

Each participant will receive a copy of The ComeBack Formula guidebook.

The 24-hour emergency training exercise starts on Monday at 8 a.m. and ends on Tuesday morning at 8 a.m., followed by a breakfast and debrief session.

Following the successful completion of this 24-hour exercise, participants will be able to:

  • Work an emergency over an extended period of time;
  • Work through an emergency with confidence;
  • Understand their individual and group roles;
  • Participate in a unified command;
  • Work with peers from across the industry with different skill sets;
  • Learn to work in a team environment under pressure;
  • Work in a command post environment; and
  • Learn to deal with emergencies from response to recovery phase

The Loomex 44-foot Mobile Jet Simulator will be used during the emergency training exercise, adding a level of realism. To see a video, click here.

The Loomex 24-hour training exercise will keep participants moving as they travel with a team of peers from scene to scene of one mock emergency to another. Participants will work with their peers to establish a Control Group working from pre-engineering and recovery to budgets for logistics to establishing communication protocols.

Participants will receive a Certificate of Completion.
