The announcement made on July 25 falls on the one-year anniversary of when Flair and NewLeaf launched their first flights in Canada. “We are starting a new chapter in the airline industry. Today we celebrate a significant milestone of successfully reaching our one-year mark, and we are excited to now move forward with a new brand that better reflects who we are as one unified company,” said Chris Lapointe, vice-president, commercial operations, Flair Airlines.

Over the past year, Flair has flown 320,000 passengers and completed more than 2,600 flights throughout Canada with a commitment to offering low fares. Flair Airlines will continue to provide Canadians with the most affordable air travel options available and has plans to expand its route network over the coming weeks.

“We are focused on growing not only our destination list, but are also widening our view of the travel industry as a whole,” said Lapointe. “We look forward to sharing more information regarding these offerings in the coming weeks.”

“Flair Airlines has delivered new service options to travellers for one year now,” said Tom Ruth, EIA president and CEO. “Congratulations on this milestone and for your service offering to Edmonton.”

Celebrations with passengers will be held at airports where Flair is departing from on July 25, and Canadians are encouraged to try the new airline with an incentive of an 11 per cent discount on all bookings made on this date. Passengers should now look for the Flair Airlines logo and name at all airports.

Information on boarding passes will indicate the change in name. Anyone who has a flight booked, will not experience any disruption of service and the current schedule will continue to be operated as planned.
