Region of Waterloo International Airport plans Aviation Fun Day

Region of Waterloo International Airport in Ontario is gearing up for it third annual Aviation Fun Day.

The event runs Aug. 26 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., rain or shine. Visitors will have opportunities to learn how the aviation industry works and view demonstrations and displays at four locations: the airport terminal building; Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre; the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Youth Development Centre; and Apron 4, an area usually restricted to the public.

Airport equipment will be on display, as well as vintage aircraft from the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and the Waterloo Warbirds. Visitors can also meet pilots and sit in the airport fire truck.

Admission is free, but visitors are asked to bring a non-perishable food donation. To date, this event has raised $3,590 and collected 3,538 pounds of food to help fill warehouse shelves.
