SONACA Montreal has announced the appointment of Paul Costanzo as chief executive officer. He will take office on July 1, 2019. Previously serving as chief financial officer of SONACA’s Montreal facility, he will succeed Sylvain Bédard who is retiring after a very successful career. Costanzo will report directly to Bernard Delvaux, chief executive officer for the SONACA Group in Belgium.

Costanzo joined SONACA Montreal in 2014. Accountant by training, he has gained extensive experience in general and financial management in the aerospace field, notably at Bell Helicopter. “I am certain he will put all his experience and energy to serve the best interest of SONACA Montreal. On behalf of the board of directors, we wish him our best congratulations and success in his new role,” said Delvaux.

Bédard retires after a long and successful career in the aerospace industry. He has been instrumental in transforming SONACA Montreal’s product portfolio and improving the efficiency of its operations.

“His leadership and vision have helped position SONACA Montreal as a world leader in both the commercial and business aircraft markets,” said Delvaux. “The board of directors sincerely thanked Sylvain Bédard for the work accomplished during his term of office and his significant contribution to the development of the company while wishing him a long and happy retirement.”

In order to ensure a smooth and successful transition, Bédard will act as special advisor to the CEO until Sept. 27, 2019.
