After many years of owning an Alsim ALX simulator, Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre (WWFC) in Waterloo, Ont., is adding an Alsim AL250 to its fleet.
WWFC, operating out of the Region of Waterloo International Airport, currently has a record number of students. The school’s 30 aircraft is one of the largest fleets in Canada and includes Cessna 172s, a Diamond DA40, and Piper PA28R and PA44. Last year, WWFC logged an unprecedented number of flight hours and 1,500 hours on its Alsim ALX. The school’s new Alsim AL250 will be reconfigurable between several classes of piston aircraft and will be delivered with Alsim’s new VFR visual system and other latest technologies.
“The Alsim ALX has been our workhorse since we purchased the device in 2014. However, due to the large number of students, it became clear that we needed to offload some PPL and instrument training from the ALX onto another simulator,” said Bob Connors, WWFC general manager.
“The AL250 was the logical choice, which allows the ALX to focus on the integrated flight training programs and MCC training. We have worked closely with Alsim and look forward to working even closer during the years to come.”
WWFC’s AL250 is scheduled to be delivered in May, prior to the school’s next college program starting in September.
