Aeronautical Engineers, Inc. (AEI) announced the company has entered an agreement to provide Aviation Holdings III Investments, LLC, with its fourth B737-800SF freighter conversion. This news follows an order for three AEI B737-800SF conversions announced in May.
The aircraft (MSN 29040) is scheduled to commence modification in January 2021 and will be performed by China-based HAECO Xiamen, which became an authorized AEI Conversion Center in August 2020. This aircraft represents the inaugural AEI freighter conversion to be modified by HAECO Xiamen.
The AEI-converted B737-800SF freighter offers a main deck payload of up to 52,700 lbs. (23,904 kg) and incorporates 11 full-height 88-inch by 125-inch container positions, plus an additional position for an AEP/AEH. The conversion also incorporates new floor beams aft of the wing box, a large 86-inch by 137-inch main cargo door with a single vent door system, and a flexible Ancra Cargo Loading System. Additionally, the AEI B737-800SF includes a rigid 9g barrier, five supernumerary seats as standard, a galley, and full lavatory.
When combined with proven reliability, the AEI-converted B737-800SF will allow Aviation Holdings III Investments, LLC to keep their aircraft in the air, generating revenue.
