The 2017 BACA Excellence Awards were presented at a lunch at London Guildhall on Oct. 18. A capacity audience saw the presentation of a series of awards reflecting the best of the air charter industry.

The winners of the awards were nominated and chosen by the membership of BACA, the Air Charter Association, via a vote from a shortlist of finalists, also decided by the members. The winner of the Chairman’s Award was chosen by BACA chairman Richard Mumford.

The Chairman’s Award is presented to an individual or company for outstanding service, dedication and long term achievement in their field. This year’s winner, Serge Dassault, was recognized for his outstanding contribution to the aviation industry.

The Chairman’s Award was the final presentation of the day; however, the ceremony started with the Passenger Charter Airline of the Year Award. The complete portfolio of Award winners was as follows:

  • Cargo Charter Airline of the Year–Volga Dnepr–sponsored by Transvalair;
