The Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, in Mount Hope, Ont., has now partnered to bring the “Community Charity Airshow” as the new name and brand of the annual airshow that serves the Brantford and County of Brant community.

The transition of event ownership and production from the Rotary Club of Brantford to the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum has been seamless. Airshow co-chair Sherry Kerr, who also serves as rotary president, remains active in the airshow production with co-chair David Rohrer, president and CEO of the museum.

“We are thrilled to be part of this great community event that raises funds for local children,” said David Rohrer. “We have participated in the Brantford shows for many years and have seen the enthusiasm from the crowds. To be able to help continue that magic is an honour for us. We hope to make the community proud–the show is a real gem.”

Organizing an airshow requires year-round planning and execution by a large group of volunteers. Much of the show’s volunteer base–many being Rotary members–remain in place, having developed a love and passion for supporting this event.

The airshow’s date, location and cost are not changing–Wednesday, Aug. 30 at the Brantford Airport. Admission remains free, with a request for a donation. Onsite parking remains at $20 cash.

This year’s show lineup features several Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum aircraft including the Avro Lancaster–making the Brantford show its only airshow appearance of the 2017 season. Other highlights include the Canadian Forces Snowbirds and the CF-18 Demo.
