The airline has made the announcement six months following the purchase of NewLeaf Travel Company’s assets in June 2017. Flair Airlines founder and former president Jim Rogers has sold his shares, but will remain on the Advisory Council until 2019.

Scott is founder and former CEO of Canada Jetlines, a rival company in Canada’s potentially crowded ultra-low-cost carrier market.

Stan Gadek replaced Scott as CEO of Canada Jetlines in 2017.

“Flair is fortunate to have a talented executive like Jim Scott as its next leader. With significant plans to expand their route network and offering a premium ULCC service, there is simply no one better to take on this challenge,” said Rogers.

Scott, a former airline pilot with extensive airline operational experience, is an entrepreneur at his core, having been responsible for founding, and raising start-up funds for other successful ventures.

“I am looking forward to the challenge of leading the transformation of how and what Canadians should expect from a premium ULCC [ultra-low-cost carrier].  We will drive forward significant improvements in customer experience, operate with reliability and execute with an impressive team in a competitive market,” said Scott.

Flair Airlines currently provides service from seven Canadian cities; Toronto, Hamilton, Winnipeg, Edmonton, Abbotsford, Kelowna and Vancouver, with fares as low as $39 for short haul flights and $99 for longer haul routes like Toronto to Edmonton.

The company has plans to expand its route network and fleet with public announcements to be made shortly.

“We believe in balanced growth, reducing our costs, elevating our brand story, and we will continue to invest in improving our customer experience,” said Scott.

  1. How can I get a hold of Jim to tell him about the problems I am having with customer service?

    1. Ditto! Perhaps try linked in. Or if the management would like to remain so clandestine in receiving feedback, perhaps better business bureau would be the route to go.

  2. i would try a pilots or aviation association that he might be affiliated with.
let him know his airline is really bad

  3. Ditto to first comment. They lost our bag, couldn’t find it but we did – in their company’s office at Calgary airport. Now still trying to get the compensation paid after 7 weeks and still ongoing. No one seems to care!
