Guests of Fogo Island Inn can now arrive on Fogo Island in one day from major U.S. hubs including New York City and Boston this summer and early fall. A newly-launched private air charter offering, operated by EVAS Air of Gander, N.L., combines overnight accommodation at Fogo Island Inn with convenient direct flights. The service will fly guests between Halifax, Nova Scotia and Fogo Island, N.L. on Fridays and Mondays, beginning July 12 through to Sept. 9, 2019. These charter flights will facilitate more direct connections from the Inn’s main U.S., U.K., European, and Canadian markets.

Pauline Payne, director of Sales Systems and Revenue Management, explained, “This new air access option will make it easier for more guests to visit Fogo Island Inn: less travel, more Fogo Island time. The new service is ideal for stays of three or four nights.”

The new, private charter service is by way of a twin engine Beech 1900D, and is available to guests booking stays during Fogo Island’s summer and berry seasons. Flights are direct between Halifax International Airport and Fogo Island’s Aerodrome, taking only 120 minutes each way.

The Fogo Island fly and stay rates include all meals, an island orientation with a community host, all land-based excursions including guided hiking, foraging excursions and cultural workshops, full use of the Inn’s facilities, and all gratuities.
