Onboard Systems International, Inc., a leading provider of innovative helicopter cargo hook equipment, announced that its cargo hook suspension kits and replacement hook kits for the Bell 206A/B aircraft have received certification from the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA). Onboard has already received Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and Transport Canada certification for these cargo hook systems.

“The wait is finally over for all of the European operators who’ve wanted to install Onboard’s cargo hook equipment on their JetRangers,” said Karsten Lemmon, vice-president of sales and marketing for Onboard Systems. “These cargo hook systems and replacement hook kits provide optimal external load mission performance, and they are easy to use and maintain.”

The newly certified cargo hook suspension system kits for the Bell 206A/B include the Talon LC keeperless cargo hook kit (P/N 200-268-01) and the Talon LC keeperless cargo hook kit with the Onboard weighing system (P/N 200-269-03), which uses Onboard’s pin load cell technology. The pin load cell mounts to one side of the hook by replacing the connecting bolt, rather than attaching as a separate link above the hook. This increases ground clearance by eliminating extra linkage, while still allowing the pilot to know the exact weight of the load.

The replacement hook kits include the Talon LC keeperless cargo hook kit (P/N 200-267-02) and the Talon LC keeperless cargo hook kit with the Onboard weighing system (P/N 200-390-00). Onboard recently redesigned the universal link for its JetRanger replacement hook kits to have fewer parts, less linkages, and integrated travel stops for improved safety and ground clearance.

In addition to the cargo hook kits and replacement hook kits, a pin load cell upgrade kit (P/N 200-389-00) is also available for operators wishing to add an Onboard weighing system to an existing cargo hook system. The pin load cell upgrade kit is certified by the FAA, Transport Canada, and now EASA.
