The Royal Canadian Air Force (RCAF) will conduct CH-124 Sea King helicopter formation flights along the Victoria, B.C., coastline and downtown area throughout the day on Nov. 27, 2018.

On Jan. 26, 2018, RCAF CH-124 Sea Kings conducted a flypast over Halifax, N.S., to commemorate the last operational Sea King flight by 12 Wing Shearwater’s 423 Maritime Helicopter Squadron. Now, it’s the West Coast’s turn to say goodbye. Cpl Felicia Ogunniya Photo

The flights are part of the lead up to the RCAF’s Sea King retirement events on Nov. 30 and Dec. 1 at 12 Wing’s 443 Maritime Helicopter Squadron in Patricia Bay. A ceremonial parade and flypast on Dec. 1 will celebrate over 55 years of the Sea King’s service to the Canadian Armed Forces and Canada.

Flybys by RCAF aircraft are carefully planned and closely controlled for public safety.
