Second MRJ lands in Moses Lake

Mitsubishi Aircraft Corp.’s fourth MRJ (Mitsubishi Regional Jet) prototype arrived at the company’s U.S. flight test facility on Nov. 18. The ferry flight from Nagoya Airfield saw the aircraft travel about 14,000 kilometres via Guam International Airport, Majuro International Airport in Republic of the Marshall Islands, Honolulu International Airport and San Jose International Airport, before arriving at Moses Lake in Washington state.

The fourth flight test aircraft (FTA-4) of the MRJ took off from Nagoya Airfield at 9:35 a.m. on Nov. 15 (JST), and arrived at Grant County International Airport in Washington at 6:46 a.m. on Nov. 19 (JST), (1:46 p.m. local time on Nov. 18). Mitsubishi Aircraft Corporation Photo

The jet is the second of four to be based in the United States for testing. The Japanese OEM plans to evaluate the MRJ over the next year to 18 months, with first delivery targeted for mid-2018.
