VIH Aerospace (VIHA), a leading provider of helicopter maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services, kicks off Heli-Expo with two announcements.

VIH offering full suite of S-92 STC products

VIHA, a specialist in designing supplemental type certified solutions for the Sikorsky S-92 helicopter has begun offering sales of its full complement of Sikorsky S-92 STC products to the global S-92 fleet.

“In light of events that transpired in the offshore oil-and-gas industry in 2016, we decided to make our S-92 products; including the vertical reference window, dual auxiliary fuel tank system and several others available for sale to S-92 helicopters,” said Dave McGrath, VIHA’s director of business development, sales and marketing.

“We feel strongly that the research, engineering and design effort we have invested in these products place them among the very best options in the industry. Therefore, operators utilizing products like our STC’d auxiliary fuel tank system, our vertical reference windows or other S-92 products will be equipped with the best available products that help ensure that they operate safely and efficiently,” said McGrath.

VIH Aerospace’s S-92 type certified equipment has been in use by S-92 operators for more than 10 years; primarily in the offshore oil-and-gas, and search-and-rescue (SAR) sectors. As a result, these products have been tested under the most stringent of criteria and operational conditions and are proven to meet and exceed industry standards and operator expectations.

The VIH Aerospace S-92 auxiliary fuel tank installation is designed to safely and effectively increase the range and endurance of the S-92A helicopter. The installation is adaptable in its design, allowing for fast installation of either a one or a two-tank configuration (depending on mission requirements) and provides increased capacity with two 150-U.S.-gallon tanks. The tank installation may be used in combination with various passenger configurations.

The S-92 vertical reference or ‘bubble’ window offers the co-pilot increased visibility relative to the side of the aircraft, which can be critical in long-line and SAR operations.

VIH Aerospace successfully completes ISO 9001 audit

VIHA also announced it has successfully completed its certification audit and has received the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) 9001 Certification.

Arne Arneson, general manager for VIHA explains that his company undertook the initiative to achieve the ISO 9001:2015 standard immediately at the conclusion of Heli-Expo 2016; as a key step in fulfilling its strategic growth plan for its maintenance, repair and overhaul programs. Additionally, the program requirements would also help refine VIHA’s processes and controls and contribute to creating increased market share for VIHA’s newly-launched manufacturing department.

“The 9001:2015 ISO standard is the most current and inclusive, and it captures all aspects of a business to ensure the highest audit and monitoring criteria are employed, resulting in operations running in the most efficient manner. In the case of VIHA, achieving ISO 9001 certification means we now hold ourselves to even closer scrutiny, and this will result in increased efficiencies and enhanced services and products for our customers,” said Arneson.

VIH Aerospace performed a detailed analysis of every aspect of its operations, including: finance, sales, purchasing, manufacturing, production and quality assurance in preparing for its audit to the ISO standard, and then made adjustments to address any shortcomings identified. These modifications ensured that the company would perform in a manner that facilitates delivery of its wide range of services and products at the highest standards to the benefit its customers, and enabling VIHA to successfully make future adjustments to accommodate the requirements of an ever-changing aerospace industry.

VIH Aerospace is exhibiting at Heli-Expo 2017, at booth #10953.
